A 76-page Jack Magazine to commemorate the day the Swans clinched a place in the Premier League

If someone has said just a few years ago that Swansea City would be compiling a special Jack Magazine to commemorate the club’s rise to the Premier League, they would have probably sent for the men in white coats!
But here we are releasing a 76-page special celebrating the club’s magical day at Wembley where 40,000 Jacks endured every emotion possible in a Championship Play-off Final thriller against Reading.
MC Kevin Johns had sparked the Swans fans into a pre-match frenzy with his stirring pitchside speech, declaring: "This Is our Day".
And by half-time virtually every Swans fan at Wembley and watching on TV ‘believed’ as they started planning trips to the likes of Old Trafford, Anfield and Stamford Bridge. After all, it was surely game over after Scott Sinclair (2) and Stephen Dobbie fired the Swans into an amazing 3-0 interval lead.
The press pack had already written their intros and the headline writers had the Swans soaring into the Premier League.
There was a handful among the crowd who were cautious, however. After all, everyone knows that Swansea City never do things the easy way.
And so it proved. Noel Hunt and skipper Matt Mills pulled two quick goals back for the Royals and the Swans were rocking. And had it not been for the woodwork and Garry Monk’s outstretched right boot with the score at 3-2, Jack cheers could have turned to tears.
Instead, Scott Sinclair prevented the fingernails from being bitten down to the bone with a late penalty that completed his hat-trick, a 4-2 victory and ensured the Swans became the first Welsh side to grace the Premier League.
Skipper Monk lifted the Championship trophy for final confirmation and Swans fans everywhere were celebrating the magic moment.
This special 76-page commemorative magazine will hopefully help celebrate that moment. We could have written a million words about the memorable day, but they say a photograph can say a thousand words so we’ve produced a publication that is predominantly picture based.
I am sure the pictures within will rekindle many memories for Swans fans everywhere . . . after all, Swansea City are Premier League.
